Not so long ago, I posted about the NYC club Satalla closing. It was, during its quite brief lifespan, the only club vaguely "uptown"--a stretch anyway, since it was in the West 20's--which presented a wide array of world music on a regular basis. (Perhaps there are others that I'm forgetting at the moment?)
The nice folks at WNYC's "Soundcheck" have invited me down tomorrow to discuss Satalla's demise, and what it might mean for New York's world music scene. So tune in tomorrow at 2 PM, or listen online, or download the podcast...
